people dining out is one of the great pleasures of their break or
holiday, so we have drawn up a short-list of places that we go to
ourselves. These days Cornwall has many good restaurants serving well
prepared local food. There are a couple of pubs close to Bay House and
- slightly further afield - two inexpensive restaurants that are
included in the 2011 Good Food Guide.
Bistro style restaurant. Delightful setting in the converted old
carriage house at Trelowarren manor. Highly competent cooking at a
price little above what the pubs charge. Now a main entry in The Good
Food Guide. Good craft centre in adjacent buildings during the day. (20

People are very enthusiastic about this place, run by an ex-London
based chef who takes local ingredients and gives them an Asian twist.
Excellent location overlooking Porthleven harbour but indoors only. Now
a main entry in The Good Food Guide. (30 minute drive).

pub has been taken over by the people who used to run the
restaurant at the local sailing club. They are extremely good, so much
so that we joined the sailing club just so that we could eat there.
